Q: Can I get an in-person session in your office in Bloomington, Indiana?

A: I am currently accepting clients at my Bloomington office. I am also accepting clients for video-conferencing sessions.


Q: Do I need to be located in Indiana to get video-conferencing sessions?

A: If you are seeking mental health counseling, you will need to be located within the state of Indiana. You do not need to be located in, or near, Bloomington. If you are seeking coparent or eldercare coaching, you can be located anywhere.


Q: Do we both have to attend Coparent Coaching sessions?

A: About 90% of coaching sessions are to individuals. You can schedule either individual or joint sessions. You can also buy session packages and either of you can use individual sessions from the package.


Q: Will insurance pay for your services?

A: Insurance will not pay for coparent or eldercare coaching sessions. Some insurance will pay for mental health telehealth sessions. I am currently in-network for Optum. As more insurance plans begin to reimburse for telehealth, I will add carriers. Good news: more insurance plans are reimbursing for telehealth services starting in 2017. Call your plan to see if they will do so. In the meantime, I have reduced my overhead expenses and lowered my out-of-pocket fee. So, my rates are affordable.


Q: Can I negotiate a lower per session fee?

A: No. I have lowered my out-of-pocket fee and offer this affordable rate to all clients.


Q: Do I need a computer to participate in video-conferencing sessions?

A: No. The Breakthrough platform will work on smart phones. Skype is also available on smart phones.


Q: Can we conduct sessions over the telephone?

A: Coaching sessions can be conducted over the telephone or video-conferencing. Mental health counseling must be conducted via video-conferencing.


Q: Do you provide services to children?

A: I generally do not provide coaching services to children. I do provide mental health treatment to people ages 14-100.


Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: Sessions scheduled via Breakthrough can be paid through their payment system. I accept Paypal and Stripe for payments made directly to me.
